Missouri Quarter Horse Youth Association - July 2020 News

Those of you who attended the Youth Excellence Seminar (YES) last week, I hope you enjoyed it! I personally enjoyed Amberley Snyder and her story. I know not being able to be together at YES was disappointing, but I am grateful for the work that went into putting it on virtually! Not only did we hear some great speakers and learn some new information, but the Officer and Director team of AQHYA was elected.

I am excited to share that two of your MQHYA members are a part of the 2020-2021 AQHYA Officer and Director Team. I am grateful to be elected as a Region 3 Director as well as super excited for our newest AQHYA President, Justin Eddy! MQHYA is extremely proud of you Justin and we are excited to see where you lead our national organization! The entire AQHYA leadership team is super excited for the upcoming year and I hope you are too.

AQHYA hosts several contests at the Youth World show outside of the show ring. While there will not be a Horse Judging Contest at the Youth World this year, the following contests are being held: Prepared Speech, Impromptu Speech, 13&Under Public Speaking, Justin Boots & Wrangler Jeans Decorating Contests, and Art/Photo Contests. Our Reporter, Abby Eddy is hard at work on our team scrapbook for the Scrapbook Contest. MQHYA sponsors the cost of all contest entries for members. See all contest opportunities and information here. Entries are due to AQHA by July 15. Contact Cara today if you are interested, as she will submit all Team Missouri entries together.

Cara has emailed all Youth World Team members tack stall assignments and initial team details.

We are looking for sponsors for Team Missouri! If you know of a business or people that would like to help MQHYA members better serve our members, let us know! I have attached the sponsorship form for you to use. The form is also on the Youth page of the MQHA website. I would love to increase participation and improve the experience of our team! I’d really like to improve our hospitality stall, stall decorations, and other parts of the team experience. We need you to help find sponsors. Remember, if you are on our Youth World team, this is very important!

It is time to start thinking about our Congress NYATT Team. If you have not submitted a Letter of Intent and are interested in competing on Team Missouri this year, please contact Cara asap.

I hope you all are riding lots and to those of you preparing for the Youth World Championship Show, good luck! Your entire MQHYA family is rooting you on so keep working hard and have fun! Best wishes to you all and I hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,

Hannah Inchiostro
