How long have you been showing horses? 40+ years 

How long have you been training horses? Since I was 12. A long long time ago 

How long have you been in Missouri? Pretty much my whole life although I did live in Little Rock Arkansas for 5 years

What is your favorite horse show? All American Quarter Horse Congress

What is your favorite event to show in? Hunter Under Saddle 

What is your favorite class to watch?   Small fry anything 

Who is your all-time favorite horse? And why? Investment Taylor. He taught not only myself but everyone who had contact with him something.  He was a great little horse with a big heart.  

If you are not at a horse show, what would we find you doing? Probably hanging out at the lake with friends and my family.  

If you were not a horse trainer…what would you be? Teacher or dog groomer

Favorite food? Queso and chips

Favorite restaurant? Maracas (local Mexican restaurant)

Favorite fun class at a horse show? Daddy day leadline (kids lead dad). MidRivers Saddle Club

Favorite movie? Wyatt Earp, the Val Kilmer version 

What is your dream vacation? Vacation, what’s that?  Best vacation ever our honeymoon cruise to the southern Caribbean.  

Tell us something most people don’t know about you?  I met my husband when I ran an ad to sell my truck.  I still have him and that old truck.  

One piece of advice you would like to share with exhibitors who are just getting started?  Take every opportunity to learn.  You can learn from anyone.  Build your own program taking pieces from things that you see working for other people.  Keep growing your skill set.  

If there is anything else you would like to share, please tell us! I am finding it really exciting to see so many new people at our shows here recently.  I have several new and novice kids with me currently.  It kind of feels like a revival.  It’s been some time since we’ve had such a influx of new blood.  Let’s make them feel welcome and help them along their way.
