MEET KAT

This month we will be putting the spotlight on the new MQHYA President, Miss Kat Dixon. Kat is a 17-year-old cowgirl from Clarksville, MO – but now lives in Vinita, OK. Kat has always been in the saddle, but this will be her third year showing AQHA events. Kat’s love for horses was never a question. She fell in love with horses at a very young age and she says it was “the natural thing to do.”

MEET KAT’S PARTNER IN CRIME, LARRY

Currently Kat rides her horse, Genuine Peps Rooster, best known as Larry, who she has been riding for about a year now. Kat’s favorite thing about him is his big heart and that he always tries very hard.

Favorite Memory

Riding for such a long time has given Kat the opportunity to make some super amazing memories. As far as a favorite memory, it would be getting to go to her first world show and showing in the Ranch Riding with Haidas Lenan Spirit. It opened up her eyes to the most competitive side of horse showing.

Favorite Accomplishment

2018 was the year of great accomplishments for Kat and Larry. Some of her greatest accomplishments include:

●        2018 AQHA Level 1 Championships Level 1 Ranch Riding Champion

●        2018 AQHA Level 1 Championships Rookie Ranch Riding Champion

●        2018 MTTA Youth Ranch Riding Circuit Champs
