MISSOURI QUARTER HORSE YOUTH ASSOCIATION

November 2021 News

Hey everyone! I can’t believe I am writing a newsletter for November already! It has already been such a fun year getting to share my passion for horses with you all! I can wait to share a few exciting things that we have coming up.

Fall Festival All Breed Youth Horse Show:

Who? All youth! Bring your friends too!

Where? National Equestrian Center, Lake St. Louis, Missouri

When? November 13-14, 2021

What? This is a great opportunity for all youth to be able to have an end of year show! It is open to any breed and any youth, 18 & under.

This is also a great opportunity to earn MQHYA Credit Hours by helping at the show – help is needed with our consignment show clothing booth, handing out ribbons and prizes, working the gates, setting patterns, etc. We always get a few new youth memberships at this show. It is an excellent outreach opportunity for our group!

Annual MQHA Convention & Awards Banquet:

Mark your calendar to join us on January 14-16, 2022, at Margaritaville Lake Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks to celebrate all the accomplishments of the 2021 show season. This is going to be an event you won’t want to miss! Watch for more information regarding our annual parent & youth meetings - and team building activity coming soon! Also, year-end award emails will be sent out soon, so keep an eye out for that.

I also wanted to share an exciting opportunity with you. As a Region 3 Director for AQHYA, I am currently serving on AQHYA’s Public Policy Committee.

We are hosting our annual Public Policy webinar on Sunday, November 14 at 6:00pm CST. Our committee plans on teaching youth members about equine-related legislation, how to contact lawmakers, and AQHYA governance and opportunities. I hope you can join! It has been a fantastic year for MQHYA! It is never too late to get involved. Through various fundraisers and events, we can always use volunteers! Always feel free to contact Cara or myself if you have any questions or new ideas.

Sincerely,
